North Carolina will be the new number 1 team in the nation tomorrow. UCLA should fall two or three points. We also think Duke will drop to 9.
Here's our take on today's limited game schedule in the top 25.
2. UNC: teams think they can run against this team for 40 minutes, but the only team able to accomplish this all year has been Gonzaga--the Tar Heels only loss. FSU was down by 6 at the half, but fell victim to UNC's deep bench and abillity to keep a fast pace the whole game. FSU will have trouble all year against teams with talent in the post. Tyler Hansbrough and Brandan Wright cannot be stopped, even by a very good team.
9. Kansas: went up against untested South Carolina team and survived a first half scare. They should move up to 6 or 7 in the polls.
10. Pitt: easy win against South Florida, who does not belong in the Big East. Pitt should be 8 or 9 in the polls tomorrow.
21. Marquette: very surprising loss to Syracuse, who has not beaten a top 25 team all season. They should fall out of the top 25.
24. Michigan State: always hard to beat Indiana at home. MSU proved this and will pay by dropping out of the top 25. Indiana is a lot stronger than they are given credit for.
25. Tennessee: Mississippi State suffers their third loss in a row on the road. We have said all along that UT is underrated. Let's hope they move up to 19.
