Where Were We?

Some sad faces on the Duke bench as NC State did what we said they would do and send the Blue Satans back to Durham to watch the rest of the ACC Tourney in their dorm rooms.

UCLA also lost tonight, opening up the PAC-10 championship to be won by a team that is actually good. The Bruins are all hyped-out.

So, back to our take on the conference tournaments.

Patriot League
Who should win: Holy Cross
Who may win: Bucknell. Not exactly brain surgery here. Holy Cross and Bucknell are are playing for the championship tomorrow.
Surprise: If Bucknell wins, they will surprise some. We think this game will go down to the wire.

SEC
Who should win: Florida, if you listen to the hype.
Who may win: Tennessee is on a tear. With Chris Lofton back in the lineup the Vols are looking like the team to beat.
Surprise: Kentucky. OK, a long-shot, but Tubby's job is looking tenuous as of late, and he needs to at least get to the final game to show he still has his mojo.

Southland
Who should win: Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Islanders have won 18 of their last 20.
Who may win: Northwestern State. Long shot, but they have the best chance of upsetting the Islanders.
Surprise: Sam Houston State was beaten by Lamar today. Lamar is a team and not just one person named "Lamar."

Southwestern Athletic
Who should win: Mississippi Valley State.
Who may win: Jackson State.
Surprise: That anyone cares at all about this pitiful conference.

Western Athletic
Who should win: Nevada.
Who may win: New Mexico State.
Surprise: We were very taken aback that Fresno State, who were a solid NIT bid and had won 6 in a row, were beaten today by Boise State.

We're a little tired and need to focus our attention on the last 33.8 seconds of the Weak Forest v. Georgia Tech game. BTW, the Demon Deacons are looking to upset the Yellow Jackets, as they are up by 2.

Vederla venerdì.
