Active Saturday

Some great games this weekend. Have we mentioned yet that we like Air Force? Off we go into the wild blue yonder...

1. North Carolina: at Virgina Tech in the afternoon. This game will either make or break the Heels. Remember that Va. Tech beat Duke at Duke. We think UNC may very well lose this game. Strong possibility.

2. Forida: playing at South Carolina, but they should dominate. The Gamecocks have no real bench threats, so the Gators will wear them down.

3. UCLA: this game at USC will be no cake-walk. USC has knocked off three top-25's in their last 5 games and humiliated Oregon State at home. While we don't sense an upset, this will be a very close game.

4. Wisconsin: should win big at home against Northwestern.

5. Ohio State: have not beaten a top-25 team yet. Where is Greg?? He needs to have a big game for the Buckeyes to beat #20 Tennessee. Our question is why is OSU ranked so high?

6. Kansas: Iowa State will give the Jayhawks a run for their money. We smell an upset.

7. Pitt: this is another team that has yet to knock off a ranked team. Georgetown should be ranked. Look for the Hoyas to win by less than 10.

9. Texas A&M: Colorado has not faced anyone of stature this season and lost to a woeful UNC-W. Aggies will roll.

10. Oklahoma State: the way OSU has been playing lately they will win this game, but look for them to have to rally in the second half against Nebraska, who will be leading by single digits going into halftime.

12. Butler: no challenge here against 4-12 South Dakota State.

14: Clemson: at Maryland. Can the Terrapins crack the Clemson Code? We think so. Upset city. Maryland will use the home court advantage (and their hate for the Tigers) plus their advantage in the post to make IPTAY shoot from the outside. Another upset.

15. Air Force: have we mentioned that we love this team? Well, we do. However, this game at Wyoming will not be easy. The Cowboys have a great all-around player in Brandon Ewing (21.5 pts, 3.3 asst) and have only lost one game (by 1 point) at home this season. We wish we could watch this game. It will be a close one.

15. Nevada: tied with Air Force in the rankings, the Wolf Pack should roll easily at Hawaii. How great to be in a conference where you get to play in Hawaii?

18. LSU: we have been disappointed in this team, especially considering the post seaon hype. Glen "Big Baby" Davis could use some help from the rest of the team. But fear not Tigers fans. LSU should make a strong showing after their loss to Alabama.

19. Memphis: will not have an easy time at Southern Miss, who is (unbelievably) 11-3 with only one player (Jeremy Wise) averaging double figures. But, somehow, they manage to win. Weird. However, Memphis will win this game.

22. UConn: St. John's will upset the Huskies, who are coming off a disappointing loss to Marquette.

23. Washington State: no easy win against Stanford here. The Cougars will have to rebound and control the tempo in order to beat the Cardinals. Despite the rankings, Washington State is really the underdog in this game. Look for Stanford to win.

24: Washington: California can't beat a ranked team. The Huskies will roll.

25. Maryland: see above. Gary Williams will hand Clemson their first loss.

That's it. Enjoy your Saturday.
